General Information

We invite proposals for special sessions and panels for the 2013 IEEE Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (FG 2013). Accepted special sessions and panels will take place during the main conference, which is scheduled for April 23-25, 2013 in Shanghai, China.

Proposals may be submitted on any topics of interests to the FG community. We especially encourage proposals that highlight emerging new fields or new application domains related to face and gesture modeling and analysis. Interdisciplinary topics that bring new perspectives to the FG community are of particular interest. Proposers should have a strong record in the proposed field.

Submission Guidelines

Proposals should be submitted to the special session and panel chairs with the subject field “FG 2013 Proposal: [title of session].” A proposal must include the following information:

• The title of the proposed special session or panel
• A brief description of the topic, including a justification for the “special” nature of the event (e.g., how it will add to the regular conference program)
• Name, affiliation, email contact, and short bio of each of the organizers
• For a special session proposal, a list of proposed contributions to the special session (including authors and topics if possible)
• For a panel proposal, a list of proposed panelists and their expected perspectives/contributions

Special session papers will be part of the conference proceedings and will be reviewed along with the regular conference submissions. Papers submitted to Special Sessions should describe original work and should follow the general FG submission guidelines.
